Agent management features are available to workspace administrators.
Archive is cleanup. It takes an agent out of the active list without deleting it. Disable is the compliance action when an agent must not be used. Owners can also archive agents they own.
Archive from Governance
Search for the agent in Governance, then click Archive agent. Choose a reason, add a Note (optional) if you want context, and click Archive.
Reasons:
- No longer used
- Replaced by another agent
- Duplicate
- Seasonal
- Other
Open the Archived tab to find archived agents. Restore with Restore agent.
On dedicated deployments, archive from Workspace Settings → Agents on All Agents or Verified. The reason is required there as well. That table has no Archived tab. Restore from Agents with Restore agent.
Auto archive unused agents
Workspace admins configure auto archive on Workspace Settings → Agents under Auto archive agents.
- Enable auto archive turns the policy on or off. New and existing workspaces start with it on.
- Archive when unused for sets the unused window: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. The default is 3 months.
- Grace period is the notice window after an agent is scheduled: 7 days, 14 days, or 30 days. The default is 7 days.
A nightly job checks when each agent was last run. Usage is a run of the agent in chat, Slack, Teams, API, a workflow, an automation, or as a subagent. Opening the agent in the list does not count.
When an agent is unused longer than the window, it is scheduled for archive. The owner and editors get an inbox notification. Using the agent during the grace period clears the schedule. If nobody uses it, the job archives it when grace ends.
The Archived tab in Governance shows Automatically archive unused agents. Click Configure policy to open the same settings.
